Magrios vs Contify

Read this first: who wrote this, and how to discount it
This comparison is published by Magrios, and Magrios is one of the two products being compared. That is a genuine conflict of interest, and you should price it in before you read another word. We are not going to hide it, and we are not going to drape it in three paragraphs of contrition either.
Here is the mitigation we actually applied, so you can check our work instead of trusting our motives. Every factual claim about Contify in this article comes from Contify's own public surfaces — its homepage, platform page, and AI page — or from named third-party sources (Gartner, Capterra), each attributed inline, and each re-read from the cited source on the date at the bottom of this article. Contify is the more mature and broader product of the two, and where that is true we say so plainly rather than defining the category around our own strengths. Where something about Contify is simply not knowable from public sources, we write "no public evidence found" rather than implying a gap. Contify's own marketing claims are labelled as its claims every time. There is a full section below titled "When Contify is the better choice" that we wrote to be genuinely useful, not decorative — for many buyers it is the honest answer.
If you finish this and choose Contify, that is a good outcome and we mean it. A comparison that can only ever conclude "buy us" is a brochure with footnotes.

Company overview
(Provenance: every Contify figure in this section is as published on Contify's own pages or attributed third-party sources, re-read 2026-07-24; sources inline and in the evidence references.)
Contify (contify.com) is an established market and competitive intelligence platform. It positions itself around delivering "360° market and competitive intelligence" and the tagline "Grow faster than the market" [claimed by them]. It is an India/US-based vendor; its funding history is not prominently disclosed on its public pages, so we are not going to put a number on it — the absence is itself worth noting for a buyer comparing vendor scale. What is externally corroborated is category standing: Contify was named a Visionary in the inaugural 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Competitive and Market Intelligence Platforms [third party — Gartner]. Analyst recognition of that kind is not something a two-year-old product typically earns, and it tells you Contify has a real customer base and an operating track record.
Magrios is an early-stage intelligence platform for B2B founders and growth teams. It is small and it is young — pre-launch/beta, with a correspondingly small team. It has no Gartner placement, no large public customer roster, and no comparable operating history to cite. Anyone inviting you to treat these two as peers on scale or maturity is mistaken, and since we are the party with the incentive to blur that line, we are telling you first: on breadth, coverage, and track record, Contify is ahead of us today. Magrios competes on a different axis, which the rest of this article is about.
Ideal customer profile
(Provenance: Contify ICP statements are drawn from contify.com, re-read 2026-07-24.)
Contify's ICP, from its own positioning, is the enterprise, cross-functional organisation: Strategy, Product, Marketing, and Sales teams that need continuous monitoring of competitors and markets, in industries such as management consulting, healthcare, IT/ITeS, BFSI, and manufacturing [claimed by them]. This is a product built to serve several functions inside one large company at once — an analyst curating a feed, a strategy lead reading a dashboard, a sales team pulling a battlecard — off a shared intelligence supply. If you have a named market-intelligence function, or a competitive-intelligence brief that multiple departments consume, that is the shape Contify is built around. The distinction between the two products' worlds is one we unpack in market intelligence vs market research.
Magrios's ICP is narrower and earlier: the B2B founder, marketing or strategy leader, or small growth team that wants evidence it can open rather than a score it must trust. The centre of gravity is a company that needs to know which real questions its buyers ask, whether it shows up in the sources AI assistants and search draw on, and what to do about the gaps — with the source behind every finding, because someone will be making a positioning or spend decision off it personally. If you have a staffed intelligence team distributing curated feeds across five departments, you are closer to Contify's ICP than ours, and you will likely be happier there.
Product philosophy
(Provenance: Contify positioning summarised neutrally from contify.com and contify.com/platform, re-read 2026-07-24.)
Contify's thesis is aggregation and curation at scale. The bet is that if you monitor a very large, editorially vetted set of external sources, apply AI and custom taxonomies to filter noise down to the entities you care about — competitors, accounts, markets — and deliver the result continuously across the organisation, teams make better decisions faster [neutral summary of Contify's positioning]. It is a coherent and well-proven thesis, and the breadth it produces is real. The question every buyer of an aggregation platform should ask — what is that curation worth once raw aggregation is nearly free — is one we take up in what market intelligence is worth when aggregation is free. Contify's answer is: the value is in the vetting, the taxonomy, and the delivery. That is a defensible answer.
Magrios makes a narrower bet, deliberately. The thesis is evidence over aggregation, and the loop over the library: intelligence is worth nothing until it is verifiable, acted on, and re-measured. Rather than monitor the widest possible external supply, Magrios reads the top-ranking public pages behind real buyer questions, records which companies appear in them — the sources AI assistants and search actually draw on — keeps a source link behind every claim, turns the strongest gaps into evidence-backed actions, and re-scans the same locked questions to measure what moved. The philosophical difference in one line: Contify is building the widest, best-curated view of the external market; Magrios is building the narrowest verifiable loop around the discovery layer a founder can act on and re-check. Neither is the correct answer in the abstract.
Core capabilities
If the vocabulary below is unfamiliar, the difference between an in-house analyst and an intelligence platform is a useful primer on the delivery models these two products represent. Every Contify cell below is drawn from its own public materials or attributed third-party sources, re-read 2026-07-24. "No public evidence found" means we did not find it in Contify's public surfaces, not that it is absent.
| Capability | Contify (per its own public materials) | Magrios |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Source coverage breadth | Monitors 1M+ vetted sources — news, company sites, SEC filings, social, custom sources — across 117+ languages, with custom taxonomies for relevance [claimed by them] | Reads top-ranking public pages behind real buyer questions; no equivalent wide-aperture, multi-language aggregation grid |
| AI-answer / discovery-layer measurement | Monitors the external news/web/filings supply about competitors and markets; no public evidence found that it measures how buyers discover a brand via AI answer engines (ChatGPT / Perplexity / AI Overviews) | Records which companies appear in the sources AI assistants and search draw on — the discovery layer |
| Source behind each claim | Athena AI answers ad-hoc questions with source-tagged intel [claimed by them] | A source link behind every claim, open to inspect before purchase |
| Locked benchmark | Insight delivered as dashboards, feeds, and battlecards; no public evidence found of a locked benchmark a reader can independently re-verify, distinct from an auto-updating dashboard | Locked/immutable benchmark questions, so trend lines use fixed methodology |
| Measured re-scan loop | Athena answers ad-hoc questions; no public evidence found of a measured action loop that scores AI-answer visibility and re-tests the same benchmark over time | Loop: gap to action to re-measurement of the same locked questions |
| Real-time alerts | Real-time alerts on product launches, leadership changes, funding, and website changes [claimed by them] | No equivalent real-time company-event alert feed |
| Delivery formats | Dashboards, feed, battlecards, newsletters [claimed by them] | Reports whose evidence is open before purchase; no battlecard or newsletter product |
| API | Business News API [claimed by them] | No comparable public API surface stated |
| Managed analyst support | Managed analyst support for done-for-you curation [claimed by them] | Self-serve; no managed analyst service |
| Agentic assistant | "Athena AI" agentic engine — extracts facts, answers questions, auto-refreshes dashboards/battlecards/timelines [claimed by them] | No equivalent agentic assistant |
| Analyst / third-party recognition | Named a Visionary in the inaugural 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Competitive and Market Intelligence Platforms [third party — Gartner] | None; early-stage, pre-launch/beta |
| Security posture | No public evidence found in our sources characterising SOC 2 / ISO 27001 posture — ask Contify directly | No SOC 2 / ISO 27001 yet, stated plainly on /trust |
| Pricing transparency | No public pricing; contact sales; a 7-day free trial is offered [verified] | Transparent, self-serve: Pro $750/user/mo, Pro+ $2,097/user/mo |
A concession worth making explicitly, because it cuts against our own interest: Contify already tags its intelligence with sources through Athena AI [claimed by them]. "A source behind the claim" is therefore not something only Magrios does. What we have found no public evidence of is the specific combination Magrios is built around — a locked benchmark plus a measured re-scan of the same questions over time, focused on the AI-answer discovery layer. That is a narrower distinction than "we have sources and they do not," and we are not going to inflate it.
Workflow comparison
A month inside Contify looks like a continuous monitoring-and-distribution operation. You define the entities that matter — competitors, accounts, markets — and Contify's engine pulls from its 1M+ vetted sources across 117+ languages, applies your custom taxonomy to filter the noise, and surfaces the relevant items into dashboards and feeds [claimed by them]. Real-time alerts fire on launches, leadership moves, funding, and website changes. Athena AI answers ad-hoc questions against the monitored supply and auto-refreshes battlecards, timelines, and dashboards. Analysts on your side (or Contify's managed analyst support) curate the output into newsletters and briefs that go to Strategy, Product, Sales, and Marketing. The product's job is to keep a wide, current, well-filtered picture of the external market flowing to the people who need it.
A month inside Magrios looks like a research-and-decision loop, run on a much narrower aperture. Magrios reads the top-ranking public pages behind the real questions your buyers ask, records which companies appear in those sources — the discovery layer — and keeps the source link behind every finding so any line can be traced back. It turns the strongest gaps into evidence-backed content or outreach, then re-scans the same locked benchmark questions to measure what actually moved. The output is a report that names what to do next and shows its evidence before you pay, not a dashboard you interpret yourself. The gap between having intelligence and acting on it — the market intelligence action gap — is the specific problem this loop exists to close.
Worked example (hypothetical). A B2B founder wants to know how their company shows up when buyers ask AI assistants "which vendor handles competitive intelligence for a mid-market strategy team?" In the Contify model, the relevant competitors and market signals are already flowing through the monitored feed, and an analyst can assemble a battlecard on those rivals from a very wide source base. In the Magrios model, that exact question becomes a locked benchmark: Magrios reads the pages currently answering it, records which companies occupy those sources with the links attached, names the specific gap to close, and re-scans the same question later to confirm movement. Contify gives you the broader, continuously curated context around the competitor set; Magrios gives you a narrow, re-measurable line on the discovery layer. This example is illustrative, not a measured benchmark of either product.
Strengths
(Provenance: every Contify figure below is as published on its own pages or attributed to Gartner, re-read 2026-07-24.)
Contify's genuine strengths, from its public materials:
- Source coverage breadth few can match. 1M+ vetted sources across 117+ languages, filtered by custom taxonomies, is a wide and well-governed aperture, and it is the right architecture for organisation-wide market monitoring [claimed by them].
- Analyst-recognised. A Visionary placement in the inaugural 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Competitive and Market Intelligence Platforms is external corroboration of category standing — the kind of signal a young product has no way to manufacture [third party — Gartner].
- Flexible delivery, including done-for-you. Dashboards, battlecards, newsletters, a Business News API, and managed analyst support let a team choose between self-serve and curated delivery [claimed by them]. That flexibility is genuinely valuable to teams that do not want to run the tooling themselves.
- Agentic AI over a curated supply. Athena AI answering ad-hoc questions and auto-refreshing artifacts is a real reduction in the manual labour of keeping intelligence current [claimed by them].
Magrios's genuine strengths:
- You can audit every claim. A source link sits behind every claim, and the sample reports are open before you pay. The value is not the assertion; it is that you can check it first.
- A locked benchmark. Benchmark questions are fixed, so a trend line reflects real movement rather than a shifting methodology — why that matters is the argument in locked benchmark AI visibility measurement. Declines are reported as plainly as gains.
- Focus on the AI-answer discovery layer. Magrios measures presence in the top-ranking public sources that AI assistants and search draw on — the layer where buyers increasingly form first impressions.
- It closes the loop. Gaps become actions and the same questions are re-measured, rather than intelligence accumulating in a dashboard nobody acts on.
- Transparent, self-serve pricing. The full price list is public, and you can read sample output before buying.
Limitations
(Provenance: Contify limitations below are stated as unknowns where we could not verify them from public sources, re-read 2026-07-24.)
Contify — limitations and open questions. We distinguish carefully between "we found a limitation" and "we could not verify this." Almost everything here is the latter.
- No public pricing. Contify does not publish dollar figures; pricing is contact-sales with a 7-day free trial [verified]. That is a finding, not a criticism — but it does mean you will need a sales conversation to size cost. Why so many vendors in this category price this way is the subject of contact sales is the price.
- Funding and scale are not publicly disclosed. We found no prominent public funding figure, so a buyer weighing vendor longevity will need to ask directly.
- The discovery layer is a different object. Contify monitors the external supply of news, web, and filings about competitors and markets; we found no public evidence that it measures how buyers discover a brand through AI answer engines, nor of a locked benchmark re-tested over time. If AI-answer visibility is your specific need, confirm scope with Contify before assuming it is covered.
- Security posture not characterised in our sources. We found no public statement in the pages we read about SOC 2 or ISO 27001. That is an unknown on our side, not an absence — a procurement team should request Contify's trust documentation directly.
- Customer outcomes. Any customer results Contify publishes are, like every vendor's, self-reported unless independently audited. We did not find independent verification in our sources, and we are not citing outcome figures we could not confirm.
Magrios — our own limitations, stated just as plainly.
- We are small and young. Pre-launch/beta, small team, pre-scale. Against a Gartner-recognised platform with a wide source base and an operating history, that is a real disadvantage on breadth, maturity, and vendor risk, and you should weigh it against us.
- No wide-aperture aggregation. We have nothing resembling Contify's 1M+ source, 117+ language monitoring grid. If you need broad, multi-language market and competitor monitoring, we are the wrong tool and do not have a partial version of it.
- No managed analyst service, no battlecards, no newsletter product, no Business News API. If your team wants done-for-you curation or intelligence piped into other systems, we do not offer those surfaces.
- No real-time company-event alert feed. We do not push alerts on launches, leadership changes, or funding across a tracked company set.
- No SOC 2 / ISO 27001 yet. We state this plainly on /trust. A procurement review that requires certifications will not clear us today.
- Single region, single processing pipeline. No multi-region redundancy at this stage.
- We measure PUBLIC sources, not private answers. Magrios measures presence in top-ranking public sources — not the private answers an AI assistant gives an individual, not search volume, and not market share. Do not read our discovery-layer measurement as a claim to see inside ChatGPT.
- Our entry price is higher. See below.
Pricing
(Every dollar figure in this section is attributed to the vendor’s own pages or named third-party reporting, re-read 2026-07-24; full sources in Evidence references.)
(Provenance: Contify pricing observations from contify.com, verified 2026-07-24; Magrios pricing is Magrios's own public list.)
Contify. No public pricing is published; the model is contact-sales, with a 7-day free trial offered on the site [verified 2026-07-24]. Third-party sources cite annual ranges of roughly $12K–$40K+ per year, with some figures up to $80K, depending on the number of tracked companies, users, and sources [third party — not confirmed by Contify]. We reproduce that range only as attributed third-party context; treat it as unconfirmed, because Contify does not state it. If cost certainty upfront matters to you, the honest read is that you will need a sales conversation to get a real number.
Magrios. Pricing is transparent and public: Pro $750/user/mo ($225/user/mo introductory), Pro+ $2,097/user/mo ($420/user/mo introductory), Enterprise custom. Sample reports are open before purchase.
The honest read on price. These are not like-for-like units, and neither one is cheaper across the board. Contify prices per deployment based on tracked entities and users, which at the third-party-cited ranges implies a meaningful annual commitment but bundles a very wide source base and optional analyst support. Magrios prices per seat, transparently, and lets you read the output before paying — but our list price is a real number, and our Pro tier is not an impulse purchase. If you value knowing the price and the output before you commit, Magrios's transparency is an advantage; if you value a bundled, curated, org-wide feed, Contify's model is built for that even though you have to ask for the number.
Best fit scenarios
Choose Magrios when you are a B2B founder or small growth team that wants evidence you can open rather than a score you must trust; when your specific question is whether you appear in the sources AI assistants and search draw on — the discovery layer — and you want that re-measured against a locked benchmark; when a source link behind every claim, checkable before you pay, is non-negotiable; when you want the research to turn into a named action and then be re-scanned to prove it worked; or when transparent, self-serve pricing and open sample output matter to how you buy.
Choose Contify when any of the scenarios in the next section apply. That section is substantial, and we wrote it that way on purpose.
When Contify is the better choice
(Provenance: every Contify capability named here is from its own public materials or Gartner, re-read 2026-07-24.)
Most vendor-run comparisons treat this section as a formality. We treat it as the point. For a large set of buyers, Contify is the correct choice over Magrios, and in several of these cases the decision is not a close one.
1. You need broad, multi-language market and competitor monitoring. Contify monitors 1M+ vetted sources across 117+ languages with custom taxonomies [claimed by them]. Magrios has no wide-aperture aggregation grid — not a smaller version of one, none. If your job is to keep a current, filtered picture of many competitors and markets across regions and languages, that is Contify's core competency and not ours.
2. You are equipping several functions off one intelligence supply. Contify is built for cross-functional enterprise use — Strategy, Product, Sales, and Marketing consuming dashboards, battlecards, and newsletters from a shared feed [claimed by them]. Magrios is built around one company's buyer-question research, delivered as reports. If you need to serve multiple departments from a common source, Contify's delivery model fits that and Magrios's does not.
3. Your procurement wants an analyst-recognised, established vendor. A Visionary placement in the inaugural 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Competitive and Market Intelligence Platforms [third party — Gartner], plus an operating track record, is exactly the reassurance a risk-averse procurement team looks for. Magrios is pre-launch/beta with no SOC 2 and no analyst placement. If your security or vendor-risk review would stall on a young company, that is a rational reason to choose Contify, and we are not going to argue you out of it.
4. You want done-for-you curation. Contify offers managed analyst support for teams that would rather receive curated intelligence than run the tooling themselves [claimed by them]. Magrios is self-serve and has no managed analyst service. If you need people, not just software, Contify has an answer here and Magrios has none.
5. You need real-time alerts on competitor events. Contify states real-time alerting on launches, leadership changes, funding, and website changes across a tracked set [claimed by them]. If your workflow depends on being notified the moment a rival ships or reorganises, that is a built-in Contify capability with no Magrios counterpart.
6. You need to pipe intelligence into your own systems. Contify offers a Business News API [claimed by them]. Magrios states no comparable public API. If you need to feed a data warehouse, a CRM, or an internal portal programmatically, Contify is addressing that need directly.
7. Your intelligence is organised around tracked entities, not buyer questions. Contify's model is entity-centric — competitors, accounts, markets — with taxonomies tuned to them [claimed by them]. Magrios is built around the questions buyers ask and the discovery layer behind them. If your operating model is "watch these 40 competitors and these 12 markets continuously," Contify is shaped for that and Magrios is shaped for something else.
The honest boundary: the band where we would still argue for Magrios is narrow and specific — the buyer is a founder or lean growth team, the question is "do we appear in the AI-answer sources buyers use, what should we do about it, and did it move," and traceability plus a locked, re-measured benchmark matters more than breadth of coverage. It is a genuine band, and a narrower one than the list above.
